Whether you have chosen to homeschool, study remotely, or participate in a hybrid e-learning program this school year, we are here to support you. Visit our Homeschooling Services page to learn more about homeschooling, or explore our free online tools and resources. We also have a large collection of books about parenting, teaching, homeschooling, and other learning concerns between the children's special collection and the adult nonfiction collection. Finally, don't miss out on our virtual and take-and-do library programs either - they make a great supplement to your learning journey. If there are any resources you are hoping to see that we do not currently have available, please contact Lindsey at [email protected]
Please feel free to share with others - our goal is to support ongoing learning and enjoyment for the families we serve.
Looking for materials to read with your kids to help them to learn and process current events (and the history leading up to them)? Perhaps you would simply like to expose them to diverse voices and perspectives. Maybe you would like some advice directed at you - the caregiver - for engaging in tough conversations about race, racism, and prejudice. We want to help! We've put together a list of some of the books we have in our department that feature black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) characters, authors, and illustrators. Keep in mind that this is not a complete list - but it is a list of titles we recommend. You can check our catalog for additional titles. We have also included a link to further reading and resources for kids and caregivers, compiled by librarians around the country.
If there are items we do not have in our catalog that you would like to see, please reach out to us using the contact form at the bottom of this page. Thank you for your support!
We are thrilled to announce the addition of Scholastic Watch & Learn Library to our list of online resources for kids and families! Featuring high-quality, teacher-vetted videos on everything from science to social-emotional skills, this database is an excellent resource for teachers and homeschoolers to supplement your curriculum. The videos are aimed primarily at preschool and early elementary school students, and new videos are added monthly.
